Art has through all times impacted human behaviour and created change. Art makes us think in new ways and leave the old behind, artists many times lead the way and either we empower or disempower humanity. We are all impacted by art in different forms advertising art, classic art, music, movies, theatres, commercials, dance, photography and so on, but what direction is it all driving our behaviour? Does it make us better humans? Or does it make us better consumers?
I’ve got one mission in life or… Maybe I have more, but yet, I don’t know of them. However I like the idea that I can “create the change” I want to see in the world. A world driven by the power of love and not the love of power, a world where compassion leads the way and where we value human life above material wealth – is that to much to ask? Imagine a world where we seek happiness within and in the nature around us – not externally with shit loads of stuff that only adds to the global overconsumption problem. Why borrow from future generations when all we need to be happy is within us now. It’s just a choice away, it’s simply a feeling we seek, so why let the outside world control our inner world? We don’t need a reason to be happy it is our birth right to be happy.
Imagine if our main goal as artists were be to support one another and move away from engaging in eternal, mindless competition. We are more than the sum of our parts. Together we can make miracles. Let’s elevate the world so future generations can thrive and we leave them a legacy of which we can be proud. Be the best for the world rather than simply the best in the world.
